Deborah S. Moore Service Awards

Deborah S. Moore Service Awards, created in Spring 1977, is a memorial recognizing exemplary service by NC State students and organizations.  Deborah S. Moore, a graduate of NC State, served as the first Volunteer Coordinator of the NC State Student Center.  She made many contributions to society, including volunteer work, teaching English to retired Spanish-speaking people, working with people with disabilities and individuals who were under-resourced.  A Beaufort County native, Mrs. Moore was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie R. Singleton.

Wolfpack Leadership Challenge Awards

Since 1987, The Leadership Challenge has provided individuals and organizations with a framework for exemplary leadership. Authors Jim Kouzes and Barry Posner believe that, despite our differences, leadership exists in five common categories composed of observable skills and abilities. These categories are the basis for the Leadership Challenge Awards.

Student Organization Outstanding Achievement Awards

Join Student Involvement in recognizing the amazing work of our student organization members and advisors.  We are excited to introduce our inaugural Student Organization Outstanding Achievement Awards.  The Outstanding Achievement Awards are presented to those student organizations, leaders, and advisors that have demonstrated excellence in on campus.  Organizations can apply or be nominated to different categories that fit their achievement.

March 17, 2015

RALEIGH, NC - Over 600 supporters crowded the North Raleigh Hilton Grand Ballroom Wednesday morning for Habitat for Humanity Wake County’s Blueprint Breakfast: the organization’s largest annual event. The gathering is a culminating celebration and fundraiser for the group that provides housing for low-income families throughout Wake County.

Along with comments from families helped by Habitat builds, top volunteers were recognized at the event.  NC State’s Habitat for Humanity team was recognized as a Bronze Hammer volunteer. The recognition level is designated for organizations having contributed $20,000 - $34,999 to Habit for Humanity this year.

NC State Habitat for Humanity team has used fundraising activities like Shack-a-thon to become one of Habitat’s top contributors, but the group’s efforts are not limited to North Carolina. Many members of the group spent last week building homes in Birmingham, Alabama.

The event also marks Habitat Wake’s 30th anniversary, with over 500 homes built to date. Over 1,000 families have been impacted by the organization’s efforts.
